Baxter Stockman is one of my favorite villains from the Mirage Comics. However, at first glance, he might be just your typical generic mad scientist. Upon re-reading the issue multiple times though has may me realize that Eastman and Laird wrote a much more self-aware villain.
Think about it, Baxter has all the usual tropes of a mad scientist (A creation of some sorts intended for good use, a lab, a assistant, etc) but, what separates him from the usual is that Stockman is FULLY AWARE of his actions. He knows he's using these Mousers to rob banks or destry government/ public properties; he just doesn't care.
To him, it's like dropping an atomic bomb on a whole country. He knows of the consequences, but chooses to fuck around instead with his Mousers, and that what make him a memorable villains, in my eyes. I mean, if you had created robots that you could utilize in other expertise, wouldn't you fuck around with them too?
This character really should've had more appearances in Comics before his eventual turn into a robot himself.
(By the way Tatoruzu, you should consider doing a spoiler tag, some people joining this forum might've not read or heard of his later appearances).
