McFarlane Toys will be releasing 5" Page Punchers toys based on IDW TMNT

Sculpting will be inspired by:

  • Mateus Santolouco
  • Sophie Campbell
  • Cory Smith
  • Dan Duncan

Limited details. According to preternia:

TMNT were another thing we couldn’t photograph. They had all four of them on display as well as Bebop, Rocksteady, and Shredder. These are IDW designs.

Turtles are fully articulated, all the joints you would see in a McFarlane 7-inch figure.

sculpting will be inspired by sophie campbell

look i dont want to add to the dogpile on this woman but ive never cared for her vision of the turtles artstyle. i dont like when i can see their eyes all the time and i dont like how round, cutesey and overall human shaped she made them. im not sure who id prefer they take inspiration from but idk... leo does look good here so maybe its a non issue

    Gort

The sculpts might end up being loosely based on the originals, because I can't tell at first glance whose art that Leo is supposed to be sculpted from. It definitely doesn't look like a Santolouco, Campbell, Smith or Duncan turtle.

But I guess the bandages suggest it's a Santolouco turtle?

Or I guess "singular cohesive sculpting style inspired by key artists" might imply that it's just a fucked up amalgamation of all four of those artists lmao.

Would have been cool to see each turtle with a sculpt inspired by a different artist.

Hell no, these are going to be an easy pass for me. More or less, I'm just talking about the toy here. Neca has their issues, sure, but I can at least get them into a decent pose and the paint job is on point. Then there's McFarlane Toys' articulation, scale, and QC issues? No way in fucking hell, there are better companies that have done IDW style figures and these one's ain't it. My advice, save your money for something better.

Yeah, I think this is a pass for me for now. McFarlane has a pretty shoddy record from what I've been told, I heard they just lost the DC license recently as well. Like you said, if the others end up looking better than what we've seen so far I might give it a chance

helljumper Probably for the best. I was overjoyed to hear that Mattel was given back the rights to make a six-inch toy-line again. See Todd, was given the rights to DC Multiverse after Mattel lost the chance to renew the licenses' and Todd as we know has his own philosophy on what makes a "cool" toy...figures with less articulation! See, what's the point of having an action figure? Well, being able to fucking pose it! Since Todd's toys are bulky pieces' of shit you can barely get any figure to be in whatever pose you want and the reason why Todd doesn't like toys having too much articulation was because they made the toy look ugly...what a fucking load. Might as well buy a statue! Also, these figures absolutely don't scale well with other figures, like, want a display of both Marvel and DC heroes? Too fucking bad, because Todd made them seven-inches instead of six! (Also, variety was out the window, because he was mostly dropping Batman figures! Everywhere you looked, all you saw was Batman and Batman adjacent characters with little other heroes or villains!) Even though he acquired the rights to a six-inch line. Fuck seven loooong years, we had to deal with his crap and I am so finally glad it's over. Don't get me started of other license's he acquired...his anime figures, my God were they hideous. (I have the Deku figures, later down the line I plan to start my own channel and I'll do a complete history of Deku figures from MHA. For now, what are my thoughts of McFarlane Deku?...It fucking sucks.) So yeah, after my insane tangent, I don't have a lot of faith these turtles' figures will be all that good.

P.S. If you wanna know more about DC Multiverse, I recommend checking out Spider Criminal's videos on YouTube. He's hilarious.

        From the press release:

McFarlane Toys, an industry leader in the collectibles category, proudly announces the landmark signing of a new licensing agreement with Paramount Consumer Products. This collaboration marks an exciting new chapter, as McFarlane Toys expands their comic collectibles with the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brand.

The upcoming series will feature highly detailed 5-inch collectible figures, each crafted with meticulous attention to detail, designed to capture the unique essence and personality of the TMNT characters. These figures are fully articulated and come with an added bonus for collectors and fans alike – a re-printed classic comic book of an iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles story from IDW Publishing.

The anticipated collection is set to launch in Fall 2025 and will be available online and through select retailers.

From Todd McFarlane, Founder and CEO of McFarlane Toys, “As a lifelong comic fanatic and professional, this partnership is something that is near and dear to my heart. I was there many decades ago when the very first issue of the TMNT comic came out for sale and have watched from a distance as this franchise has blown up into a full-scale phenomenon worldwide. To be able to join forces with the good folks at Paramount Consumer Products and bring some of the exciting figures from those original comics will set comic fandom on their heels. This is going to be fun for all of us!”

“We’re excited to partner with McFarlane Toys on a new line of collectible figures for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” said Lourdes Arocho, SVP of Consumer Products & Experiences at Paramount. “These figures are crafted with exceptional detail, capturing the dynamic personalities of TMNT, and we can’t wait for fans to get a hold them.”
