I really don't like everything what they did to the turtles. I also tired of the turtles fight each others over and over again. I guess Jason Aaron didn't even bother reading what came before him, or maybe IDW just gave him a synopsis. After they going through so many bad things, they're still haven't grown, instead, getting worse.
Splinter communicating through a rat should be easy to everyone, but only Donnie and April have noticed. Now, Leo and Mikey act like Raph, angry, aggressive, constantly trying to fight each other. There's no Leo or Mikey here, the character dynamics are completely out of whack.
What I really want see is that Leo noticed quickly that something is wrong with Donnie and tried to use astral projection or the ninja magic they had learned to check on Donnie's mental state and discover Splinter's ghost earlier. Mikey might be angry at first because of Raph's previous imprisonment, but he is still willing to listen to Raph's explanation and finally understand his difficulties. Raph stop losing his temper and he quickly teams up with the other two to help Donnie first. This doesn't even need to waste 8 issues.
