i havent read mutant nation yet, not even #1 its in my TBR pile but i just read the solicit for #5

no way this isnt just straight filler right? like this is a 2 page backup story at best but its solicited for 40 pages??? im rooting for IDW for real but then i see this and its like oh man what are you doing to me dude what the hell

and is tom waltz for real leaving after only 4 issues? are we pivoting into a straight up anthology series? what is this?

cover B is old hob of course which just makes me wonder why the hell he didnt get an ongoing. hes probably IDWs best and most interesting original character

just saw the punk frogs video. i find it really funny that the punk frogs story wasnt mentioned at all in the solicits nor was it referenced on any of the 3 covers for the issue. almost like they knew or something. anyways issue 7 confirmed

honestly this is the worst book of the 3 in the relaunch by far. its also fucking 6 dollars which lmao. its a 40 page book. savage sword is only a dollar more and its 64 pages. i hope this book gets cancelled soon because honestly im only buying it to be on the ground floor for a complete collection of volume 2 of idw tmnt at this point.

Tatoruzu if thats what they wanna do then fine but the problem is they clearly dont have any stories to tell with these characters its just filler for the hardcovers at this point

Gort You might be on to something. It’s not about telling a story, it’s about producing “content” to sell to people like all those streamers on platforms like YouTube and Kick.

they paid a lot of money for the license so it makes sense to put out multiple books and get the collected editions out faster. frankly they need to add an omnibus line for volume 1 and start an anthology book that isnt ass. give the turtlles a second ongoing like detective comics is for batman. do miniseries for old continuities like 2003 or 2012 tmnt. do an alternative sequel to the 1990 movie. literally anything else damn. maybe theres rights issues with those last few suggestions but i cant help but feel like theyre underutilizing the license i wont lie.

CodeXAhex I’m worried about his health, but It would be great if Laird tied up volume 4 with a handful of issues and released it as a hardcover, even if he had a ghostwriter for help to let the characters ride off into the sunset.
