So, after reading the first Issue of Jason Aaron's run I mistakenly thought that this was a rebooted timeline. That thought was mostly born out of myself, wanting to avoid all spoilers as humanly possible until I read it for myself. (For those wondering what I thought about it, I thought it was pretty good.) So my relationship with the IDW timeline was near-nonexistent. I only know the bits and pieces that I've seen over the years, as well as reading the crossovers. I've been too busy with enriching myself with the Mirage/DreamWave books; quite frankly I don't think much will do anything to top the quality of Eastman and Laird's original turtles.
However, I made a challenge to myself, because of my seemingly bottomless affection for all that is TMNT and comic books. I have wanted to read everything that is TMNT. This being a rather arduous task, is not lost on me; but I know it's not impossible. So recently I've acquired two of the hardcover collections, and that will finally be the beginning of the next chapter of my life regarding TMNT comics.
So that's the skinny of it all, I know things get fucking goofy after Issue 100, which is why I will stop buying these collections after Vol. 13 and reading the rest of the series through....alternative sources. Yar har, fiddley-dee. (I refuse to give Sophie any of my money.) I will laugh, I will be excited, I will probably cry, and I will probably become irrationally angry. But nothing worth doing is ever easy. What do you guys think?
