2012, generally, is considered to be THE streamlined version of the TMNT (At least on TV) and it's not hard to see why. It's a perfect blend of all the shows that came before it, and in certain cases, (Like Dimension X/The Utroms, how Mutagen works and reworking villains from all incarnations of the TMNT franchise at the time.) expands upon them, and delivers a satisfying experience for old and new fans alike.
Since watching all of Rise, I've grown softer on the series as time flew by. Regardless of what anyone may think, Rise does offer an alternate take on the usual formula and the animation is legit fantastic, especially for a kids cartoon. It's a decent enough cartoon to show your young kids, it's a decent enough cartoon. It's just not a very good TMNT cartoon, I love these characters, and I have a specific idea on how these characters should be portrayed and Rise just doesn't do that for me. Is that a little close minded? Maybe, but there's a reason why TMNT has remained as resilient as it is these past decades, and that's consistency to a centralized idea to a concept.
