So in the movie we see that everyone was a Zygote apart from supafly and that was the same time the turtles were babies, right. Did the writers of the movie forget that splinter was an adult when he got mutated? Why did they have him and scumbug get into a relationship when it is 15?

its pointless to debate things like this especially when you consider that bugs mature like 4 billion percent faster than most complex lifeforms. like a fruit fly dies in two weeks so theyre probably fully mature in like 12 hours or some shit. of course the real answer for pairing splinter up with a disgusting bug is the same reason the whole movie is unserious. they thought it would be funny and everyone knows that sincerity and earnestness is gay especially in comic book movies.

Gort The brand of unseriousness in Mutant Mayhem is pretty bad though. Even if we can find excuses for the ~~scumfuck~~ Scumbug relationship, it's still something I'd prefer not to see for reasons other than OP's point.

its something id prefer not to see because its a joke. i think the beauty of comics is that theyre able to treat absolutely absurd characters and situations with real dramatic weight. this is seemingly impossible to make happen in other mediums where more than a handful of people are involved because i dont think most people can handle the idea of a campy idea played straight. its why almost every comic book adaptation is either constantly winking at the absurdity of the premise or is trying to be some hyper I.R. SMRT deconstruction of the mediums tropes. and frankly its why TMNT 1990 is so special. its one of the only comic book adaptations that treats its source material with actual respect and weight while maintaining a comic book feel. maybe im just schizo ranting but im serious lmao
